Currently, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is basking in the spotlight. We've already witnessed stunning Guerrilla 450 transformations from Indonesian masters at Frontwheel Motors and the innovative Japanese team at Cheetah. But now, we turn our attention to a build originating from Royal Enfield's very own backyard: India.

This particular Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 café racer, a masterpiece of purposeful design, is the brainchild of Buraq Motorcycles, located in Hyderabad, India. They crafted this machine to compete in Royal Enfield's prestigious Busted Knuckles Build-Off competition held late last year. Its aggressive, sporty stance and luxurious, meticulously applied finishes secured it a well-deserved silver medal.

According to Adnan Hashmi, co-founder of Buraq, their core idea was to fuse the raw power and visual impact of a drag bike with the timeless elegance of a classic café racer. In essence, they aimed to capture a duality of performance and style. Cleverly capitalizing on the Guerrilla 450's inherent strengths, Hashmi and his team delivered a radical reinterpretation of this already-peppy single-cylinder roadster. And this is the part most people miss: it's not just about bolting on new parts; it's about understanding the soul of the bike and amplifying it.

Buraq's ambitious plan involved a comprehensive overhaul, targeting both the Guerrilla's bodywork and its underlying mechanical components. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) subframe was carefully detached and replaced with an exceptionally clean and meticulously crafted trellis-style unit. A sleek, carbon fiber seat cowl, drawing inspiration from the muscular lines of classic performance bikes, was then gracefully draped over the top.

Concealed beneath the sophisticated, twin-textured seat cover lies a meticulously handcrafted electronics tray and a custom-designed shock bracket. An adjustable Öhlins shock absorber provides superior damping and control, propping up the rear end and contributing to the bike's refined handling.

Moving to the front of the machine, Buraq fabricated a bespoke carbon fiber fairing, mounting it securely using handmade brackets. This fairing is further enhanced with a tinted windscreen borrowed from a BMW R 12 nineT, adding a touch of modern flair. An offset LED headlight, surrounded by playful decals, provides ample illumination while adding to the bike's unique character.

Further back, a carbon fiber fuel tank cover elegantly sits atop an aluminum reservoir, faithfully mirroring the original OEM design's lines and contours. This subtle yet impactful modification enhances the bike's overall aesthetic appeal.

The front end boasts a veritable treasure trove of performance upgrades, including forks sourced from a Yamaha R1, a BMW R 1250 GS steering damper for enhanced stability, and a powerful three-piston brake caliper paired with a Nissin master cylinder for confident stopping power. At the rear, a Brembo brake caliper ensures equally impressive braking performance. Braided stainless steel hoses are used throughout the braking system, providing improved feel and durability.

Delving deeper into the modifications, Buraq installed a PowerTRONIC ECU (Engine Control Unit) for optimized engine management and a quick-shifter for seamless gear changes. They also meticulously fabricated a stainless steel exhaust system, complementing it with a high-performance titanium Arrow muffler for an aggressive sound and improved exhaust flow. The air intake and coolant reservoir are custom-designed, as is the wiring loom, which is powered by a lightweight Lithium-ion battery for reduced weight and improved performance.

Equipped with clip-on handlebars and Gilles Tooling footpegs mounted on custom rear-set brackets, Buraq's Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 café racer is purposefully designed for aggressive, performance-oriented riding. The motorcycle also benefits from a significant weight reduction of approximately 30 kilograms (66 pounds), further enhancing its agility and responsiveness. A couple of extra teeth on the rear sprocket provide increased acceleration and a noticeable boost to its already-peppy performance.

Finished in a striking combination of black and glossy carbon fiber, accented with vibrant yellow highlights, this machine means serious business. The attention to detail and commitment to performance are evident in every aspect of this build.
